FREE Striped crochet beanie Pattern!!! UPDATED!



Supplies:
Hook size H
Worsted weight yarn (I used Lions brand because of its softness)
Key terms:
Ch- chain
Dc- double crochet
Ss- slip stitch
St- stitch
Rnd- Round
Dc2tog- Double crochet 2 together
I have color coded my sizes Blue is baby, Green is child, Orange is teen or adult
This pattern is working in rounds.  After you attach you DO NOT turn your work
Color A
Ch 4 ss into first ch to form a loop ch3

Rnd 1- Dc 12 into the circle attach to first St, (do not fasten off)
Attach color B (pull up through ss st to attach last DC to first DC of color A, ch 3)

Rnd 2- Dc 1 in same st as 3 ch, Dc 2 into next st, Dc 2 in all st all the way around, (do not fasten off)
Pull up Color A through ss, ch 3

Rnd 3- Dc 1 in same st as 3 ch, *Dc 1 into next st, Dc 2 in next st* repeat all the way around,
Pull up color B, ss, ch 3

Rnd 4- Dc 1 in same st as 3 ch, *Dc 2, Dc 2 into next stitch* repeat all the way around
Pull up color A, ss, ch 3
(Skip to rnd 8 for babies)

Rnd 5- Dc 1 in same st as 3 ch, *Dc 3, Dc 2 into next stitch* repeat all the way around
Pull up color b, ss, ch 3 
(Skip to rnd 8 for young children)

Rnd 6- Dc 1 in same st as 3 ch, *Dc 4, Dc 2 into next stitch* repeat all the way around
Pull up color A, ss, ch 3
(for teens and adults)

Rnd 7- Dc 1 in same st as 3 ch, *Dc 6, Dc 2 into next stitch* repeat all the way around
Pull up color B, ss, ch3

(for teens and adults) Another rnd can be added if bigger is needed
Keep switching colors all the way till the end without cutting or fastening off.
Rnd 8-(11,12,14) Dc 1 in every st all the way around, Fasten off after last rnd.

At the end tie both colors in a knot (optional) for extra security and weave in ends.

    1. Thanks! and I'm not sure on exact measurements but, I used simply soft yarn and did not come close to going through either skein of yarn.

  2. In rd4 are you putting 2dc into every stitch, or are you doing 1dc in one stitch, 2dc into the next and repeating?

  3. aaaah nevermind! I figured it out. Just dc once into the next two stitches the dc 2 into the 3rd
    -_- sorry, I'm new to both reading patterns and doing rounds!
